-WTF?  They call the episode "An Invisible Thread."  IMDB lists Christopher Eccleston as being in the episode.  We were led to believe there would be Claude, but guess what?  NO CLAUDE.  :(  Who wants to grab torches and pitchforks to join me in an angry mob about the lack of expected Claude?  (Of course he could be there but invisible and not interacting with anyone, but that doesn't count!  However, if it is revealed next season that invisible Claude saw Angela, Noah, and Matt's secret scheme and he appears at a critical time to tell somebody else, that would be awesome.  Are you listening, writers and casting department?!)

like="">-Thank you, show, for not killing Hiro! (So far.)  He was adorable with his determination to stop time and save the day even if it endangered his life.  *hugs adorable Japanese dork and his Batman-based medical philosophy*   He and Ando even had a useful idea in knocking out the government agents with the drugs they were using on the prisoners.  (How fortuitous that there were no more agents in the whole building than there were prisoners!)  But why haven't they tried having Ando's zap to boost Hiro's power?  Do they even remember that Ando can do that?  Sometimes I think the writers of this show pay even less attention to the canon than I do, which isn't much.

-Senator Nathan Petrelli is dead.  Long live Sylar Senator Nathan Petrelli!  As an actual plan, this is appallingly stupid on the part of Angela and Noah, but as a plotline it has some cool possibilities.  Seriously, guys, do you have any proof that Matt will be able to do a 100% personality wipe?  What if parts of Sylar's psychopathic personality are genetic rather than based in memory?  What will happen if he mysteriously heals from an injury or otherwise manifests a power than Nathan shouldn't have?  And do you really want to spend the rest of your lives looking at Nathan's face and knowing that somewhere under there is the monster who killed the real Nathan?  What if the hunger to kill starts manifesting even while he thinks he's Nathan?  I look forward to seeing some of these questions answered next season.  Oh, there will be such angst when Peter and Claire find out!

-In retrospect, Nathan flying in front of his staffers and promising to take responsibility for his actions and make things right was a sure giveaway that he was about to die.  As I was watching, though, I was too excited about Nathan coming out as a powered person in a cool and noble manner to think ahead like that.  The small part of me that wasn't wrapped up in the moment was inspired by the slight levitation to snicker about Tinkerbell Jesus and expect Nathan to go pwn the Master.  Nathan has often annoyed me, but he's mostly been in my good books since Mexico.  I'm sorry to see him go.

-Holy shit, Peter's actually badass!  That scene in the limo was really cool.  I assumed it was the real president and Peter was gong to have to intercept them later, but Peter was unexpectedly smooth.  I am curious whether Peter got the whole suite of Sylar abilities or just the shape-shift.  If I recall correctly he looked wounded after the battle, which suggests that he doesn't have the healing ability.

-Sylar was really friggin' creepy with Claire.  *shudder*

-So, was that naked!Ali Larter supposed to be a not actually dead Tracy with her abilities extended from ice to all water, or was that the mysterious Barbara?  We shall see.

-I'd forgotten about this ability myself, but others on the internet make the valid point that Claire's blood has incredible healing powers.  Can we get an explanation about why that wasn't used on Nathan?

-Who's wearing the Heroes Stupid Hat this episode?  In a bizarre twist, it's Noah and Angela!  Their plan to conceal Nathan's death and put Sylar in his place is setting themselves and the world up for all sorts of trouble.  The usual Stupid Hat wearers were doing pretty well.  Mohinder forgot once more that he's a geneticist, not a medical doctor, but wasn't onscreen long enough to do anything excessively moronic.  Peter, as mentioned, was amazingly competent.  Hiro was perhaps self-sacrificing to a fault, but he used his ability to good effect and worked well with Ando.  Matt participated in the Really Bad Idea, but the fault for that lies with Angela and Noah, who manipulated him into it.  Claire was moderately cunning in spotting the fake Nathan, and her ice-cool promise to explain either before or after the secret service shot her was well done.
-Overall, I thought this was a fairly strong episode despite its flaws, and it set up some cool stuff for next season.  However, NEEDS MOAR CLAUDE!

I too was looking for Claude...grabbed my pitchfork and was ready to light my 'angry villager' torch on Nathan/Sylar's funeral pyre when I realized Claude must have been there...he was just invisible :(

I choose to assume that Claude is invisibly present in EVERY episode, making snarky comments under his breath. It's just not as good as Claude visible onscreen or at least some voice work!
