I like to think that Arthur sort of probably knows Merlin's doing SOMETHING helpfully shady, because he also has a knack for being surprisingly competent when we least expect it. I'm kind of hoping the day Merlin finally tells Arthur about his magic, Arthur just says "...Oh, yeah, that explains a lot," and Merlin being all "X SEASONS AND YOU JUST SHRUG IT OFF?"
