Christmas blessings
Dec. 25th, 2013 03:29 amMerry Christmas!
Merry Christmas to those who have to work, including those in obviously vital jobs like medicine and law enforcement, but also the workers at places like Waffle House who are providing a smile and some warm food to those who might not have a homier option.
Merry Christmas to those far from home, whether because they can't afford to get there or because they're in the Peace Corps or the military or something that requires them to be far from their loved ones.
Merry Christmas to those who don't have a home full of loved ones to go to, and merry Christmas to those at home with families that don't treat them with love and kindness.
Merry Christmas to those who grieve.
Merry December 25 to those of different faith traditions who feel excluded more than usual this time of year.
Merry Christmas to those without the means to celebrate the season as they would like to, or even to meet their most basic needs.
Merry Christmas to those who might be surrounded by love and plenty, but are still going through a crappy time emotionally and can't seem to feel the spirit of the season.
May you all love and feel loved. May you find peace in troubled times. May you see light in the dark time of the year. Whatever you feel faith in, whether it be some form of the Divine or simply the potential for goodness in humanity, I hope it fills your heart. May joy and wonder touch you, even if you think it impossible right now.
And may your Christmas contain much less potential for loss of life and limb than the typical Doctor Who Christmas special, unless you want it to I guess.
