Obligatory crosspostgate announcement

This reiterates what you have probably been reading all over your flist all day and what you hopefully have enough sense to realize on your own, but please DO NOT use the new crossposting tools to link Facebook to things from this journal, especially locked content.  This includes your own comments to this journal.  Like toothpaste and orange juice, Facebook and LJ are both sites I enjoy that should never, ever mix

I use Facebook to keep up with a wide variety of people I have met face to face, including coworkers, relatives, people I barely remember from high school, etc.  While I am out of the geek closet to everyone, the degree of fangirling that goes on in this LJ (especially the writing and appreciation of fanfic) is something I prefer to keep under the radar.  There are only a few people who know both my Facebook and my fandom LJ identities, and I intend to keep it that way.

I recently established a Dreamwidth account (same username) for the purpose of commenting over there.  Currently it's blank.  Probably I should at least back up my LJ over there.  Dammit, Livejournal is my fandom home.  I really don't want to uproot, but the company seems to pull some new stupidity out of their butt every month or two.  How much is too much?

This fix should prevent the link boxes from showing up on your LJ, as long as users aren't using ?style=mine.

You could start off by crossposting to both places. That's what I do.

Crossposting to both DW and LJ is a good transitional step--it makes it much easier for the people who have switched to DW to follow you, but the people who haven't switched will also still be able to read your journal like always.
