Drip, drip, drip
I just saw the Waters of Mars, somewhat after the rest of the internet. Prior to reading what other people have to written, what I absolutely need to say right now is this:
-Sweet Tinkerbell Jesus, the Doctor needs someone to fucking stop him!
-I was hoping that my prediction of another incredibly depressing chapter in DW/TW canon would be proved wrong. Instead, RTD just keeps finding new and different ways to make me feel like slitting my wrists at the end of watching. (Note to readers: this is an exaggeration. But not by that much.) In addition to just about everybody on the base dying and the Doctor attaining a terrifying level of hubris, Adelle gave some harsh indications about the intervening 50 years.
-Nine would totally blow his top if he found out what Ten just did, and especially how he was justifying it. So would most of the companions, but Nine would have some particularly strong words on the subject. (He got in a fight with Rose about saving someone against the laws of time, for crying out loud.)
-The Doctor sees Ood people!
-Can I regard this as an enchanting story about a girl who befriended a Dalek and went on to be part of the first colonists on Mars, forgetting about the last day or so of that base?
-I suspect that quite a lot of time may have passed for the Doctor since JE. It's been WAY too long since he had someone with him for long enough to see beyond the flashy rescues and dimensionally transcendent ship and remind him that Time Lord or not he still puts his pants on one leg at a time.

My question is why is Ten so afraid to die? He knows he's going to regenerate, right? While Nine willingly went to his death to save Rose, Ten's hubris has extended to his body image. Or does he think he won't regenerate?
The Doctor definitely needs someone with him to ground him if only to remind him he's not the most gorgeous incarnation! (waves at 5 and 9 ;P)

So much word.
Also, I was definitely wondering about Reapers- shouldn't they have appeared and starting going for the survivors?
