I'm glad I'm watching Miracle Day, but it does sometimes feel not so much Torchwood, more like Gwen, Jack, and Rhys have crossed over to some other show that doesn't interest me as much. This is especially true at first; episodes 5 and 6 have felt a tad more Torchwood-esque, though it's definitely the dark Torchwood of CoE rather than the ordering pizza to the secret base wackiness of S1-2.

If you do watch, go from the beginning to keep up with the continuity. You might some of the non-Rex characters more if you start there, plus Gwen gets some fantastic moments in ep 1 and 2. Overall I've thought it's gotten better as it went along, with the exception that I liked 5 better than 6. Still, so far it's my least favorite season of Torchwood. If you disliked episode 3 that much, I don't know if I'd recommend it to you.
