Fantastic
Tonight, I went to see Celtic band Molly's Revenge in concert. I've seen them once before, but they were definitely worth a second visit. They put on a wonderful, energetic show. The presence of bagpipes in a fairly small concert venue means that the music overpowers you, but in a good way. The feeling is not argh, my ears; it's hey, my toe is tapping of its own accord! Woo! Meanwhile, I seem to have fallen behind in the TV meme again.
Day 21: Favorite Ship

I care about a lot of ships, but none of them get to me quite as much as Doctor/Rose, and in particular Nine/Rose. They have so much chemistry on screen. It's the way he looks at her like she's the most important thing in the world. It's the way she trusts him so completely and understands him even though his life is so different from anything she's ever known. It's the hand pr0n:

They challenge each other. They have tons of fun together. They support each other through rough times. Sometimes, they go dancing:

They save each other emotionally as well as physically. He rescues her from a life where a job in a nice shop is thought to give her airs and graces, and she saves him from his post-Time War despair. Their relationship is EPIC. She absorbed the bloody Time Vortex and scattered a message across the entire universe in order to save him, and he gave up a life for her. However, it's also defined by little moments: a decision to go get chips, a moment of mutual appreciation and smiles while about to be killed by gas zombies, a significant glance across the table in the middle of trying to foil an alien plot, holding hands in a lift, an exchange of banter. For two people with the scary titles of Oncoming Storm and Bad Wolf, they sure are adorable.
When a handsome omnisexual Time Agent joins the crew, he doesn't split them apart, instead becoming enfolded in the shippy dynamic. Their love survives the Doctor's regeneration, Rose's entrapment in another universe, and a human-Time Lord metacrisis. Though nothing I've seen moves me quite as much as the dynamic between Nine and Rose, somewhere out there Ten II and Rose are still essentially the same people, doubtless holding hands at unnecessary times and running a lot.
Other favorite ships include:
-Ten/Jack (I ship Doctor/Rose/Jack as an OT3 with either Nine or Ten, but I particularly like the individual dynamics between Nine/Rose and Ten/Jack)
-Mulder/Scully (my first ship, my first experience in fanfic. Their relationship literally invented UST, or at least caused fans to invent the acronym for it.)
-Buffy/Spike
-Victor/Sierra
-Gwen/Morgana and Merlin/Arthur, or frankly any other combination of these characters.
-Amy/Rory
-Kirk/Spock
As a final bit of Nine/Rose celebration, have a vid set to "Hey Rose" by Girlyman, a lovely song that perfectly suits Rose's S1 journey:
Day 21 - Favorite ship
Day 22 - Favorite series finale
Day 23 - Most annoying character
Day 24 - Best quote
Day 25 - A show you plan on watching (old or new)
Day 26 - OMG WTF? Season finale
Day 27 - Best pilot episode
Day 28 - First t.v show obsession
Day 29 - Current t.v show obsession
Day 30 - Saddest character death
