Heroes: I am Smeagol...I mean Sylar.
-Doctor Who fandom has confused me for life. Whenever anybody pulls out a watch that doesn't belong on the wrist, I immediately get distracted by wondering if that person could be a Time Lord. Danko has a pocket watch? Does he hate the people with special abilities so much because he's in denial about his own extraordinary alien nature? Well, no, but the fact remains that I'm conditioned to crazy speculation at the sight of these innocuous time pieces.
-Sylar has hopped on the express train to Crazytown and is now having full Gollum-style conversations with himself, only instead of Smeagol as the alternate personality he has his MOTHER. WTF? Sometimes I think the writers like to test Zachary Quinto's acting abilities by giving him the kookiest, dumbest plotlines and seeing if he can still sell them to the audiences. Season after season, he passes the tests. All criticisms of the writing aside, the scene where he spat out the tooth was kinda neat in a gruesome way. Also, I love that he is so messed up that Danko of all people is giving him pep talks about maintaining identity.
-Hiro spent much of this episode in one of his occasional bouts of being an asshole toward Ando. Grr. I like Hiro, and I hate it when its his turn to get hit with the Heroes Stupid Stick. (Mohinder, after all, was only on screen for a few seconds, so he couldn't perform his usual village idiot role.) Seriously, when will the writers let Hiro grow up and stop relearning the lesson that he and Ando work better as a team? Also, why did he think he'd be able to ride in disguise as an agent all the way back to headquarters with no chance of anyone noticing that he was an imposter? Despite all that...
-Oh no!!!! Hiro has the nosebleeds of doom! NOT OK! Show, kill off either of your adorable Japanese buddies and you will incur my wrath!
-*sigh* Matt Parkman, how long ago did Daphne die? You were in serious vengeance mode because of your undying love for her. Now you are apparently trying to get back together with your ex-wife. My credulity, it is strained.
-Sylar's shapeshifting ability seems mostly an excuse to give lots of actors an excuse to compete for who can do the creepiest, most Sylar-like glare. Today, the guy who plays Micah turned in a respectable performance in the juvenile division.
-Micah crashed on Sylar's couch?! The kid apparently got hit with the Heroes Stupid Stick too. Once Sylar saved him from the feds, the correct action would have been to RUN away and text the psychopath a thank you from a safe distance. Also, why isn't he in New Orleans with Nichelle Nichols.
-Did Danko miss the sweet spot, or has Sylar somehow become even more invulnerable?
-Overall, that was rather cracktastic, but I'll take it in a heartbeat over the dreadful festival o'flashbacks in the desert we had last week. There were some great moments this week, like Ando's excitement about being in Hiro's stopped time. The plot advanced. I'm eagerly awaiting next week.
-NEEDS MOAR CLAUDE.
