Kangaroos are so cool. They definitely seem like something an imaginative child or creature designer for a science fiction movie might imagine. Though I suppose part of that is how exotic they are to those of us from other continents. I suppose if I lived in Australia and they habitually wandered down my street they wouldn't seem so made up, while stuff like raccoons would seem totally weird and unlikely.

This is not the case for the platypus. There is no way the platypus could possibly seem normal.
