Sherlock mini-episode!!!!!!! Yes, that deserves all those exclamation marks.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

*deep breath*

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sherlock mini episode!!!

Okay, I'm going to try to use sentences.

This is marvelous.  Anderson is a true believer who thinks that Sherlock is still alive!  And he is wearing a Watson jumper and grew a grief-beard!  Unexpected and brilliant choice.

I'm glad for the confirmation that Lestrade is still trying to keep up a friendship with John.  Also, John has apparently selected his new flat because it, like 221B, has eye-catching wallpaper.

I can recognize Benedict Cumberbatch's hands even when that's all of him we can see.  They are very good hands.

Given this show's track record with Orientalism, I'm not sure having Sherlock posing as a monk in Tibet was a good idea. Even if travel to Tibet is something that Holmes did in canon, it felt perhaps a bit much "Exotic East."

I was laughing and happily cheering for much of it, then Lestrade gave John the video and suddenly it was ASSAULT BY FEELINGS.  Oh dear.  I am overwhelmed by seven minutes; what is an entire episode going to do to me?

I actually forgot about this. Thank you for posting it!!!!!

I also noticed the wallpaper in John's new flat and thought the same thing. But, oh, poor John. He hasn't grown his grief-mustache yet. I guess that comes later.

I can't wait for the third season. :-D

You're welcome. I'm glad to share the love! I knew that this was coming, but for some reason I had been expecting it on Christmas day, so I was delighted to see it earlier than I anticipated.

Yeah, the lack of John's grief-mustache is interesting. I wonder when this is in between the Fall and Sherlock's return.

I am somewhat in shock that series 3 is actually happening. I am simultaneously really excited and unable to cope.

My eyes got suspiciously misty when John said, "Stop being dead." I'm going to be a fountain of tears when the episode airs. I am not emotionally prepared.

I think when it was posted, it was technically Christmas Day in the UK. Either way, a nice early Christmas gift for the fans who have been eagerly waiting for the show to return since New Year's Day two years ago. Can't believe it's been that long.

Hopefully, it's not another two years before we get another season. I just wish the seasons were longer. Three episodes and then you're done.

Yes, the miniep is great!

...except there are no juries in the German legal system.

...and if there were, they would probably consist of Germans with correct papers, not dead English guys.

But that aside, lovely ep! :) Can't wait for Jan 1st!

I don't think it's possible to be emotionally prepared for this. The best we can do is to be physically prepared by having quantities of kleenex and tea close to hand.

Oh dear. Well, they did say the jury was convened under unusual circumstances...but being in defiance of the legal system is very unusual indeed.

January 1 can't come soon enough!

"Yes, this jury was convened under unusual circumstances, in that it is the first and only one ever! So who cares who you people are, might as well pick ones who don't speak the language and hence couldn't follow the trial!" *giggles*
